When you perform on the field, you get rewarded. The Dallas Cowboys signed safety Roy Williams to a four-year extension on Wednesday, guaranteeing that he'll be with the team through the 2010 season.
"I am going to be a Cowboy for life," said Williams. "I'm staying here."
Williams, the Cowboys' first-round pick from the 2002 draft, recorded 81 tackles with three interceptions and 2.5 sacks last season. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent following this season.
PFC Analysis: This move was a no brainer. Williams has been nothing but gold for the Cowboys, and there was no sense in waiting until after the season or during the season to sign an extension. Now, Williams can focus on simply playing. The Cowboys also signed Jason Witten to an extension a few weeks ago.
