The New Orleans Saints are quickly establishing their coaching staff. After the Saints hired Sean Payton as their new head coach, the team has now hired Joe Vitt as their new linebackers coach. Vitt was the interim head coach for the St. Louis Rams last year after Mike Martz left for health reasons.

The Saints also named Doug Marrone as their offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, and John Bonamego as their special teams coach.

Vitt will also be the assistant head coach to Payton, probably due to his experience with the Rams last year. He took over for a total of six games. Vitt was an assistant coach before Martz left.

Payton has worked with Vitt before and knows what he is capable of.

"I worked with Joe at the Eagles and the one thing you can say is that his players always excel," Payton said.
