The New Orleans Saints have traded linebacker Courtney Watson to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for linebacker Eddie Moore. The deal did not include any draft picks, and was simply a swap of linebackers.

Moore, who was a second-round draft choice in the 2003 draft by the Dolphins, only played in five games last year before being placed on the injured reserve. He fractured his right knee and had surgery to repair it. During his career with the Dolphins, he mainly played as a special teams player.

Watson was also drafted in the second round, but he was taken in the 2004 draft by the Saints. During his first season, he started eight games for the Saints. Last year, he played in nine games and had 37 tackles with one sack on the season. A knee sprain prevented him from playing the rest of the season.
