All signs are pointing to Washington Redskins receiver Santana Moss missing this week's game against the Dallas Cowboys due to an injured left hamstring. Moss was downgraded to "doubtful" on the team's injury report Friday, and head coach Joe Gibbs was not very optimistic about him being able to play.
"Looks more and more like it will be hard to have him go," said Gibbs, in regards to Moss' playing time.
The Redskins will certainly miss Moss, considering he has literally been the
only threat in the Redskins passing game this season. He has recorded 435 yards receiving this season, while the rest of the team has a combined 397 yards receiving. Moss suffered the injury during Washington's game against the Indianapolis Colts on October 22nd, and has not practiced since. The Redskins had a bye last week.
"You're going to miss Santana. We all know that. We have to have other guys step up," Gibbs said. "It's why we have the guys we do at that position. Hopefully that will happen."
With Moss gone, Antwaan Randle El and Brandon Lloyd will be the team's top two receivers. Both men were brought in during the offseason in an attempt to improve the Redskins passing game. Unfortunately, both additions have been one of the most unproductive additions to a team during the offseason for having so much potential.
