The Pittsburgh Steelers have already played one game without a "power" running back, but they hope that'll change now. The Steelers signed free agent running back Najeh Davenport to a one-year deal on Friday. Davenport, who has been with the Green Bay Packers for the past several seasons, missed most of last season after breaking his ankle against the New Orleans Saints on October 9th. Although Davenport has had some injuries during his career, he ran the ball well in Green Bay as the backup to Ahman Green.

To make room for Davenport, the Steelers were forced to release rookie running back Patrick Cobbs, a player that the Steelers traded for on September 1st from the New England Patriots for a conditional draft pick. Cobbs did not play in Thursday's opener against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Advice: The Steelers may consider using Davenport down near the goal line. He may be worth a pickup in fantasy leagues if you have garbage on your bench, but don't start him until you see what role the team uses him in.
