The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed running back Verron Haynes to a two-year deal. Haynes had 274 yards rushing and three touchdowns last year, a career best. He also recorded 11 receptions for 113 yards.
Haynes, who was a fifth-round draft pick in 2002, was the Steelers primary third-down runner last year. He could be the backup to Willie Parker this year since Jerome Bettis retired right after the Super Bowl.
