Former Buffalo Bills tight end Jay Riemersma is set to retire after joining the NFL in 1996. Riemersma tore his right Achilles' tendon over a year ago during a game, and is ready to hang it up due to the severity of the injury.

Riemersma was not drafted, but played with the Bills until 2002. He joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2003, but was released in February of 2004 due to the injury.

Riemersma played in 112 games during his career, catching 221 passes for 2,524 yards and 23 touchdowns.
