Quarterback Akili Smith can't catch a break in the NFL it seems. After not living up to his expectations with the Cincinnati Bengals when he was drafted in the first round in 1999, the Bengals released him four years later, where he spent most of his time as a backup.

Akili Smith was sent over to NFL Europe to play for Frankfurt, and then reported to training camp after the league ended. The team obviously didn't have enough need for Smith, and he will likely try to find another team.
