With David Akers out for a month with a torn hamstring, kicker Todd France will take over his duties. France has had success in NFL Europe and has kicked the ball well.

The Eagles cut Darnerien McCants to make room for France on their 53-man roster. McCants was signed to add to the team's depth at wide receiver, but he has only made one catch in three games.
