Bill Parcells and the Dallas Cowboys did not wait long to snag Eddie George after he was released by the Tennessee Titnas. The Cowboys signed George to a one year deal worth $1.5 million. With incentives, he could make $4.5 million more than the Titans offered.
Eddie George wanted to come to Dallas for a few reasons. Dallas struggled with the running game last year, so George can be a big part of helping that, though he will have to split time with rookie Julius Jones and veteran Richie Anderson. Dallas was also a playoff contender last season, which is where George obviously wants to be again.
Philadelphia, Oakland, and the Giants also showed interested in George, but George knew that Dallas would use him more than the other teams.
Dallas' starter who struggled last year, Troy Hambrick, was released earlier this offseason.
