Cleveland, OH. (PFCritics) -- After several months of finding the right team, Ty Law has settled with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs, who have struggled defensively for awhile, were thrilled to sign Law to a five-year deal. Ironically, Law has connections with new Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards, who coached the New York Jets last year. Law signed a one-year deal with the Jets last year, and was outstanding in recording ten interceptions.
Law, at age 32, will start along with Patrick Surtain to jumpstart what could be an explosive secondary. The Chiefs also focused on defense in the draft, selecting defensive end Tamba Hali in the first-round.
"That's going to be a huge help to us," said defensive end Jared Allen. "Our defense is going to be awesome. The guy's a great athlete, a great player. He's been to the Super Bowl. I didn't think it would happen. Rumors were always floating around. But I'm really glad we got him."
The Chiefs were also interested in signing Law last year, but he signed with the Jets instead.
