Minnesota Vikings new head coach Brad Childress has already started getting to work. Childress fired the Vikings defensive coordinator, Ted Cottrell, just days after he took over the job. At the moment, Childress is consiering Tampa Bay assistant Mike Tomlin to replace him.
Cottrell was a candidate for the Vikings' head cocahing position before Childress was hired. Cottrell's defense underachived the first half of the season, but the unit seemed to pull together in the second half. Vikings safety Darren Sharper was an interception machine, allowing him to make the Pro Bowl.
Buccaneers' coach Jon Gruden has confirmed that Minnesota has shown interest in Tomlin.
"Mike Tomlin is a candidate, obviously, in Minnesota," Gruden said.
There will probably be more coaching changes as the Vikings' offseason progresses.
