The Minnesota Vikings have signed free-agent kicker Ryan Longwell, taking him away from the their division rivals. Longwell has been with the Green Bay Packers since 1997.

Last year, Longwell was 20-of-27 in field goals, one of his worst seasons as a pro. However, the Vikings will probably keep him as their new starting kicker. The team will likely not pursue Paul Edinger, their kicker from this past season.
