After the Chicago Bears released kicker Paul Edinger recently, the Minnesota Vikings signed the kicker to a one-year deal.
Edinger has spent the past five seasons with the Bears, but wanted out after not wanting to compete with Doug Brien for the starting job. Brien was brought to the Bears to compete with Edinger.
Edinger struggled last year on a poor Bears offense. On the Vikings, he will have to compete with Aaron Elling for the starting position. Elling has had a couple of stints with the Vikings.
