The Minnesota Vikings have signed wide receiver Bethel Johnson, releasing receiver Maurice Mann to make room for him on the roster. The team also cut quarterback Drew Henson from the practice squad.
Johnson, a second-round draft pick by the New England Patriots in 2003, never really had a role in New England's offense. He did do well as a kick returner, leading the AFC during his rookie season with an average of 28.2 yards per return. He only caught 30 passes for 450 yards and four touchdowns as a receiver.
Henson was released by the Dallas Cowboys in August and was signed to the Vikings practice squad on September 27th. He had one start in 2004 for the Cowboys.
