Second year running back for the Minnesota Vikings, Onterrio Smith is facing a four game suspension due to a repeat violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.  It is likely that he will appeal the suspension, but if the appeal is unsuccessful his suspension will begin at the start of the regular season, though he can still practice with the team and participate in the Vikings preseason games.

Onterrio Smith was the Vikings second leading rusher in 2003 with 579 yards and 5 touchdowns while former Pro Bowl running back Michael Bennett missed 8 games with a broken foot.
