The Minnesota Vikings have traded backup offensive tackle Nat Dorsey to the Cleveland Browns for backup center Melvin Folwer.
The Browns were interested in Dorsey last year, a rookie taken in the fourth round by the Vikings. Folwer was a third-round pick in 2002 and has started 14 games. He has played both center and guard fairly well.
"He plays with high energy, he's quick, and he's smart," said Vikings head coach Mike Tice.
While Matt Birk, the team's former starting center, is out for the season with an injury, Cory Withrow may be challenged by Fowler.
For the Browns, Dorsey may be groomed as the team's future starting tackle.
