Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas has had arthroscopic knee surgery. The good news is that he is expected to be back before the regular season begins. He may miss a few exhibition games, but should be at 100 percent by time the season kicks off.
Thomas had injured his knee during routine drills Thursday and had surgery to repair some torn cartilage.
"It's not a serious injury, but Zach has to allow a certain amount of time to heal or it becomes a lingering condition," said Thomas' agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Zach Thomas has been to the Pro Bowl five times and has been a standout player on defense. If things get more serious, it will be a big blow to Miami's defense.
