With the tenth pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans selected Amobi Okoye. The Texans would really have wanted Levi Brown or Adrian Peterson, but both of them were already selected. However, it is a bit of a surprise that they chose not to go with a cornerback.

"Amobi Okoye." That'll be a fun name for announcers to pronounce this year, as the defensive tackle from Louisville is bound to make an impact. Okoye is strong enough to play the position, often able to get a good push to collapse the pocket. He also plays the run well and will draw multiple blockers. Okoye is a well rounded athlete that has performed very well without supposedly coming close to reaching his maximum potential.

Okoye needs to work on some of the finer points of the position, including developing some more techniques for rushing the passed. Along with not having the most complete leverage on some plays, coaches will need to make sure they rid of Okoye's trends of playing inconsistent at times.

Although Okoye has a lot of experience in college football (four years), he is only 20 years old. His age is the reason that people feel he'll have much more value in a year or two than he currently has - and he's already good.
